There isn’t a better way to connect with your fans than by getting them to create content for you. The best part about including your fans in your content is you will create more brand awareness and a broader reach, but you can also get unique content that can be reused and repurposed for other business goals.
Smartphones have made it easy for you and your customers to create quality content and distribute it online to personal networks. Every time a customer shares your content you are basically getting an endorsement that is objective and authentic.
Contests are a great way to encourage fans to create and post videos about your brand. Interactive campaigns give your customers reasons to upload and share content with their social followers. This will get engagement from their followers and your brand’s reach will grow organically.
The first thing you should do is create a hashtag that represents your brand. (#BryanShaw, #YourBrandName etc)
Once you’ve created your hashtag, make sure that you use this in your posts on social media, website, emails, and / or flyers. You want to make it as easy as possible to for your fans to know your hashtag to interact with your brand.
Next is to understand why you are asking customers to post and share photos of your brand. The goal of the campaign can be anything. Increase followers, more leads, or as simple as getting new content. The important thing is to know how this campaign will help you achieve your brand’s goals.
Decide which social platform you are going to use. Remember different channels have different users and you should choose the platform that appeals to your most core audience. Use the platform where you have the most active users.
Reward your loyal customers. This can be as big or small as you would like, just make sure the reward is enough to make the customer create great content.
Finally, display the great content and engage with the fans / users that have created the content for your brand.
