Ways to Use Meerkat and Periscope in Marketing Your Business

In a previous post I wrote about using Periscope or Meerkat and how they could change live streaming as we know it. Not only could it change live streaming, but it can change the way you market your business.

Our smart phones are better, they offer cheaper data, and can handle streaming video much easier. They also keep our engagement simple and efficient.

We are beginning to see a trend with celebrities using these apps such as U2 and Mary J. Blige. I even have a number of radio friends who are using these apps as a part of their on air shows.

These apps make things very simple to stream an event and have real time interaction with the audience.

Your audience wants transparency and these apps give your followers an opportunity to see what your organization is all about, who is behind the company, and how things work in your business.

Like your other social media pages you can offer exclusive promotions and deals. These can be offered exclusively to those who watch your streams from these apps. We all have a fear of missing out so users will watch if they think they will get in on some exclusive promotion.

You can even host your own question and answer segment to give your followers an insight in to your business. Think like REDDITS Ask Me Anything. This is tried and tested with great success across many platforms and it’s simple.

Unlike other platforms where you have control over the final product, this isn’t the case with Periscope and Meerkat. These apps give you the idea of improv. Once it’s there it’s out there, and there is no coming back. You have to GET CREATIVE and THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. Embrace the idea that it is just you and your audience with no second takes.

These apps are going to force your business to be real.

The possibilities are endless. Remember be creative and think outside the box.
